Lunacy: Curse of the Blood Moon Eclipse
☠
Quick! Get a bandage! The moon is bleeding!...oh...wait...never mind. A blood moon eclipse occurred on September 27, 2015. The whole world was supposed to explode into a kazillion pieces and brimstone fireworks was supposed to sear the skies. That never happened. I'm very disappointed.
However, I did manage to observe the entire blood moon eclipse, and then stitched together a short time-lapse movie nearly a year later. Better late than never, right?
Have you ever seen a total lunar eclipse? I’m not talkin’ about goin’ outside and takin’ a quick peek at totality. No, no, no—I’m specifically referring to sitting through the entire lunar marathon—all 4 and a half hours. All of the penumbra. All of the umbra. All of totality. You get the idea.
No? You never saw a total lunar eclipse? Perhaps the clouds ruined your view, or perhaps you were too busy watching True Blood. Come on! Don’t lie.
Luck for you, I condensed the length of the entire blood moon eclipse into mere seconds! Yeah! You don’t have to worry about sitting in the cold, or mosquitoes nipping at your ass. You can watch the entire lunar eclipse in a blink of an eye and won’t even have time to yawn.
I promise.
☠
Great shots. Thanks for the memories . . .

No problem! There will be another lunar eclipse on March 23, however, it won’t be a total eclipse, and I’m not sure if you will be able to view it: http://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/lunar/2016-march-23

WOW!! Cool blood moon eclipse!
The only eclipse I know of that tore anything into pieces was Bonnie Tyler’s song (put your hands together and sing with me now, Just don’t let any ‘quitos bite your ass 😀 ): “… now I’m only falling apart. There’s nothing I can do — A total eclipse of the heart! Once upon a time there was light in my life, but now there’s only love in the dark. Nothing I can say — A total eclipse of the heart.” 🎵 🎶🎵

Niiiiiice! Haha — the birds are envious of your golden pipes! I bet Bonnie Tyler knows a thing or two about eclipses.
Only the desperate ‘quitos take a sip from me, and they always regret it.

Thanks! I think the birds are jealous of me — they crap on my windshield all the time. My neighbors scream, “shut up” every time I sing — so jealous of my pipes! Haha!!
‘Quitos love my blood, and I do a fair share of killing them. It’s cool swatting
them right after they’ve feasted on me and seeing my blood splash all over the
place. Jackson Pollack would be so envious. 😜

Ewwww! You see…that’s why you get bit — because when someone swats a ‘quito — its entire family swears bloody vengeance against the swatter. Literately.

Ah, so funny! Wait… Is literately like your spelling of plumb?? 😉 Hahaha. Sorry; you’re just too cute to not make fun of. Best night — ever! Lol.

Mosquitos have a lot on their conscience at the moment. In the UK, or NL where I am just now, I believe we cannot see this event to my chagrin. I shot something special for you today, in a guitar shop…has to wait till the end of the month though, till I get back to my PC and PS!! I bet you now cannot wait!! xx Well done with you moon arrangement on this photo.

Mosquitoes have a bad reputation…I mean they only transmit yellow fever and a variety of other lovely diseases…I don’t see what the big deal is.
I can’t wait! Quick! Get back to your computer!

Cool video! And thanks for posting. Rarely get to see an eclipse in Alaska. It’s too cloudy or, if it’s summer, too light.

Thanks foe watching! Is it often cloudy in Alaska? I always imagined the nights would be relatively dark and clear….shows how much I know.

I don’t blame you…I mean…you can’t scratch your ass in public and blame it on mosquitoes. Unfortunately.

Awesome film. Love to watch an eclipse. Magic. (Oh, I meant to say science. Even better.)

There’s going to be a lunar eclipse on March 23 (penumbral), but I’m not sure if you’ll be able to observe it: http://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/lunar/2016-march-23

Nope. But since you will, I’m hoping you’ll be able to get some great photos.

That’s assuming the clouds don’t give me the finger and obscure my view…which will probably happen.
The lunar eclipse on March 23 won’t be a total eclipse, so you won’t miss too much.
